At Pixelz, we’ve released the next generation of our “Specifications” system. It lets you tell us exactly how you want your images edited, down to the most granular level.
You can provide as much or as little detail as you want, from advanced custom specifications to one-click selections that automatically apply the right image retouching settings, or even for popular marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Google Shopping, and Etsy. Every detail can be managed on the Pixelz Platform and amended at any time. You only have to define your requirements once, and then we will process all your product images to those exact specifications. You set it, then forget it, while we deliver edited product images in 24 hours or less.
Do you have a specific marketplace in mind? Create an order specification with one click from our list of popular sales channels using Predefined Specifications. Are you processing images for your own E-commerce website and want guidance? Use our “Guided Specifications Setup”. Are you a professional photographer or graphic designer with very specific needs? Our “Manual” option allows advanced customization of your order specifications.
You’re not confined to a single specification. You can define as many as you need, across products and categories, using whichever methods suit the context. For instance, you might create a specification for your fall footwear collection that’s tightly cropped, bottom aligned, and uses reflection shadow to emphasize texture and detail. Whether it’s handbags with subtle drop shadows for your PDP or lifestyle images for social, or ghost mannequin effect, the possibilities aren’t just flexible, they’re virtually limitless.
Let’s take a look at all three ways to create specifications.
Predefined Specifications
Predefined Specifications make onboarding faster and easier by giving you access to ready-made templates with the right retouching settings built in. Instead of starting from scratch, you can choose from specifications designed for e-commerce, editorial, video, or marketplaces, each tailored to the needs. It’s a quick way to get set up while also giving you a clear overview of the full range of Pixelz services.

When it comes to marketplaces, we’ve taken the guesswork out of compliance. Whether you’re selling on Amazon, eBay, or Google Shopping (and many more platforms), our templates already meet their requirements. Simply select the marketplace from the list, decide if you’d like any add-ons to optimize your images, and you’re set. You can even choose multiple marketplaces at once, and we’ll ensure your product images meet the standards of every channel simultaneously.
And we show you pricing every step of the way. You can add-on popular image editing options like shadows, color correction, and a ghost mannequin effect as needed.
Adding on features is simple, and pricing is transparent.
And that’s it. Any images you upload will be edited to match your specifications. Each specification is displayed in a clear, easy-to-share format. Need to make adjustments later? You can update specifications at any time. If you’re preparing images for another destination, simply select “Create New” on the dashboard to explore the other creation methods available.
Guided Specification Set-up
Create custom product image specifications for your online store
If you’d like to set up custom specifications based on your own guidelines, we make it simple. Just select the “Guided Specification Setup” option, and we’ll walk you through spec creation in a few quick questions—tailored to your product type and image shot style (on model, flat, lay, ghost mannequin, etc.).

Start by choosing the category that best matches your products. For example, shirts or dresses belong under Fashion & Apparel. The process is designed to be straightforward—we only ask what’s necessary. Advanced options are available if you want them, but most users finish in just a few minutes.
Next, select how your images are shot—on model, flat lay, or mannequin. If you use multiple variations, simply create another specification afterward to cover those as well.
From there, set your image size. Standard e-commerce options are shown to make it easy, but you can adjust as needed. The following steps may look slightly different depending on your chosen image shooting style, but just follow the guided questions and they’ll get you there!
For retouching, decide whether you’d like adjustments made to the model, product, or background. Transparent pricing is displayed for every option, so you’ll always know what you’ve selected.
Then, choose your background. You can go with standard white, transparent, or any custom color using the RGB profile.
Finally, apply color correction. Accurate colors are essential—images that don’t match reality hurt customer trust and increase returns. Keeping colors true-to-life can make a big difference for your business.
When you’re done, you’ll see the complete, editable specs you’ve created along with an example image showing your specs in action.
In just a few simple clicks, you’ve created a specification that will guarantee consistent presentation of your product images. Each spec is independent, giving you complete flexibility and control.
And every specification can be edited in detail using the “Edit Specification” option in the specification. If you want to skip the questions and presets and go straight to those technical details, the “Manual” specification option is for you.
Manual
Perfect for photographers and graphic designers.
If you know exactly what you want, you can have it. Manual order specifications let you customize your product images, with a sample image reflecting changes in real time. You can adjust features like file type, alignment, background, sizing, name, DPI, compression, watermark, EXIF metadata, and more!

The live sample image itself can be changed to more closely match your product. We have preloaded sample images from a wide variety of categories, all the way from jewelry to home furnishings. This real time preview of your specs helps prevent errors and lets you refine specs down to the smallest detail.
Whether you choose Predefined Specification, Guided Specification Set-up, or Manual, no single order specification method is better than any other. That’s why we have options! Choose the one that best suits your needs, and don’t be afraid to create multiple specifications or edit existing ones.
Create a specification to suit your every need. It takes just a few moments now to let us save you hours and hours of image editing time later.
Once you’ve created your order specifications, you’ve taken a big step towards creating consistent and professional product images. Now you can upload your images and focus on other parts of your business.
